FLORIDABLANCA, Pampanga— Some 3,678 indigents listed in the National Household Targeting Systems (NHTS) and 4Ps benefited from free Philhealth given through the “Alaga Ka Roadshow” in this town.

The distribution was led by Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda and Mayor Darwin Manalansan including the Sangguniang Bayan at the town’s Sports Complex.

Governor Pineda also announced the 3,000 square meter expansion of Romana Pangan District Hospital in front of the hospital beside the main road with an allotted fund of P30-million.

She said indigents who are not beneficiaries of NHTS and 4Ps may still avail free Philhealth from the 11 provincial and district hospitals of the provincial government through the Point of Care Program funded by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

The governor said the Philhealth Alaga Ka program would ensure that indigent members are made aware of how to avail basic health services in government hospitals, rural health units and health centers.

“You have no reasons not to visit your doctors because you have now your Philhealth’s Member Data Record, which will ensure the no balance policy in government hospital once you were admitted. I urge you to make use of these health benefits,” the governor told thousands of beneficiaries.

She urged the beneficiaries to keep and take good care of the member data record as it will serve them as passport whenever they are admitted in hospitals.

She said that among the services under the ALAGA Ka program are the provisions of micronutrient supplements, maternal and neonatal care package, and family planning, aside from treatment package for tuberculosis and free health care services in public hospitals.

She added that the MDR holders could be able to consult with a primary care doctor and entitled to a package of preventive and promotive services designed to keep them healthy and to detect illnesses early on.

“This include regular blood pressure monitoring; counseling on breastfeeding, smoking cessation and lifestyle modification; screening services to detect breast and cervical cancers; and digital rectal exam,” she said.

Mayor Manalansan thanked the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, Governor Pineda and the Philhealth personnel for bringing health care program easier and at no cost to the people.
